It feels like the Erins were really struggling to hold it together with this one - the first two thirds felt like a panic to bridge the gap between two major story arcs, and it only really got going nearing page 200 or so. Before that it was much of the same thing with hints at mystery and danger, however once it did take off, it took OFF! the last third was fast paced and full of vital development and set up for the stakes of the second half of the sub-series, with some decent surprises. WhenThis book was simply about trust, betray, and hope. Spoilers may accur in the summary.In the beginning, The raged battle between ShadowClan an ThunderClan has ceased. Brambleclaw and Blackstar come to an agreement that ThunderClan gets the well-fought-over land. Russetfur has lost her only life and Firestar has had another life ceased from him.Tigerheart and Dovepaw start to meet in private. TOO AWESOME! It was kind of nerve-racking at parts, and really heart-breaking when Dovepaw and Ivypaw divorce, sisters-style, if you know what I mean. But it was really good!
It was a great book. If you like fantasy with a little mix of mystery, you'll like this book
Im just realizing how good this series could have been if the authors took more time to think things through.It can delve into very controversial topics some times too, and present them in a GOOD manner that doesn't feel out of the blue.For example they tackled how disabled people are special and shouldn't feel like they need to die just because they cant take care of themselves or live like they used to. And the pain that comes with being a parent of someone who becomes disabled in a tragic
